Dr Kristof Wenczel

Dr Kristóf Wenczel is one of Hungary’s leading sports lawyers, with decades of experience at the intersection of sports law, athlete representation, image rights, merchandising and the international sports business.

Experience & Expertise

Throughout his career, he has advised and represented professional athletes, clubs, agents and other stakeholders in complex domestic and international sports matters. He has been involved in numerous high-profile international football transfers and has successfully represented clients in dozens of proceedings before the FIFA Football Tribunal, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) and the FIBA Basketball Arbitral Tribunal (BAT).

Beyond his legal practice, Dr Wenczel has extensive hands-on experience in the commercial exploitation and management of professional athletes’ name, image and likeness rights, personality and image rights, sponsorships and merchandising rights.

In recent years, he has developed particular expertise in the rapidly evolving field of Name, Image and Likeness (NIL), with a special focus on European athletes entering the U.S. collegiate sports system.

His international sports experience extends well beyond legal representation. Dr Wenczel has served as Vice-President of CONIFA since 2015 and has also been involved in the organisation and co-organisation of numerous international sporting events.

His objective is simple: to ensure that athletes understand, protect and maximise the value of their name, image and likeness throughout their sporting careers — wherever in the world their careers may take them.

Laszlo Vinko

Basketball agent | Owner of Vinko Group

László Vinkó is a Hungarian basketball agent and the founder and managing director of Vinkó Group, with more than two decades of experience in the international basketball market. He has been a licensed FIBA Basketball Agent since 2007. His professional activities focus primarily on the international representation of professional basketball players, strategic career management, and cooperation with clubs across Europe and overseas.

Experience & Expertise

Throughout his career, he has represented numerous Hungarian and international players. Vinko Group has maintained a strong presence in the international basketball market for many years, facilitating player placements in several European and overseas basketball leagues.

One of the key areas of László Vinkó’s work is helping Hungarian players access international opportunities, including in the Spanish, German, Italian, Slovenian, Turkish, and other European markets.

In addition to player management, Vinkó Group is also active in facilitating the placement of international players and coaches with Hungarian clubs.

The representation process takes into account the long-term interests of each athlete, including the selection of the right club and league, expected playing opportunities, contractual terms, and the player’s individual career objectives.

At the heart of his professional philosophy is the belief that the most financially attractive offer in the short term is not necessarily the best decision for a player.
